Genital ulcers are one of the main, often early, symptoms of Behçet disease. They can happen to both men and women and can be very painful. They normally occur on the vulva or scrotum.
Genital ulcers are not as common as the oral ulcers and are present in 57-93% of patients. Most of the time doctors diagnose this as herpes and only with the combination of other symptoms does Behcet’s start to be considered.
